The first 3-year phase of this BBP project with Motheo TVET College in Bloemfontein, South Africa started in December 2022.

One of the main goals of the project is to establish systematic links with the local economy at regional and national levels, as well as creating cooperation models, such as regular round tables with relevant professional associations. KH’s prior engagement in the ISESA initiative certainly helped to easily establish these contacts to the private sector. Enabling young people to responsibly design their own future through the creation of a shared community with the private economy is another main objective.

KH provides advice on reinforcing the TVET system aligned with the needs and in close cooperation with private stakeholders. KH will also give organisational and management advice for partner organisations. Dual apprenticeship programs for students, following the German model, as well as project-based learning scenarios are being implemented. All these activities are supposed to enable the college’s graduates to be better recognised by potential employers, due to their better vocational education.
