AI Course in Matola – For a Digital Future

From 5 to 12 May, a pioneering Artificial Intelligence (AI) training course was held at IICM (Instituto Indústrial e Comercial da Matola) in Mozambique. The course was strategically guided by KH and implemented by ANIMA Estúdio Criativo in an short-term expert assignment.
The task for this course was to prepare educators for the challenges and opportunities of the digital era, since AI is no longer the future, but already the present state of education. The program equipped TVET instructors with essential skills to integrate AI into classroom practices – covering lesson planning, content creation, assessment, and ethical considerations. Sessions combined theory with practical applications and focused on the use of free and professional AI tools.
Adelaide Rodrigues, a math and physics teacher at Mozambique’s largest TVET school, praised the initiative: “This course changed the way I see teaching. I now feel ready to use AI to better engage my students and adapt to their needs. It was the best training I have ever attended.”
KH and ANIMA reaffirmed their commitment to supporting educational innovation and preparing young Mozambicans for a data-driven economy.
